What are the precautions during plasma spraying operation?

In plasma spraying, the coating material is heated and melted by a certain heat source, and atomized into very fine particles by high-speed airflow. And it is sprayed at high speed onto the surface of the workpiece to form a coating.

Thermal spray alloy powder can be divided into nickel based, iron-based, and cobalt based alloy powders according to the hardness of the coating, which are used for repairing and protecting mechanical parts. It can endow mechanical parts with one or more properties, such as wear resistance, corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and heat resistance.

The following issues should be noted in plasma spraying processing:

1. Heatable coatings must be selected, such as amino paint, phenolic blend paint, and nitro paint, which can be used in the bucket waste industry. X-622 epoxy coating and PVF coating can reduce drilling after heating, so thermal spraying can be chosen.

2. Draw the paint temperature 1 and a degree curve in advance, and select the appropriate temperature.

3. When using thermosetting coatings for thermal spraying, be careful because during heat transfer or heating cycles, it is easy to cause thermal curing reactions, causing the coating to thicken and gelatinize.

So, the heating temperature must be significantly lower than its thermal curing reaction temperature. The above amino coatings and X-622 epoxy coatings are both thermosetting coatings. The thermal spraying temperature of amino coating should be around 60 ℃, while the thermal spraying temperature of X-622 epoxy coating should be below 80 ℃.

For electric heating, the power supply voltage must not exceed the rated voltage of the heater.

When the electric heating circuit is not coated, it is impossible to control the power on.

6. The oxygen valve (functions: stop, diversion, pressure stabilization, diversion, etc.) should be slightly opened before installing the oxygen (oxygen) cylinder. Remove dirt and prevent dust and garbage from clogging the pressure regulator, causing accidents.
