Supersonic flame spraying technology is used to improve or restore the surface performance or size. By using high temperature and high-speed airflow to spray molten or semi molten materials onto the surface, a dense coating with very high smoothness is formed. Supersonic flame spraying technology can be used to spray decorative materials such as alloys, ceramics, plastics, and composite materials.


The working principle of flame spraying technology: The liquid enters the combustion chamber through small holes such as kerosene, and after atomization, it mixes with oxygen and ignites, producing a strong gas-phase reaction. The heat released by combustion causes the product to expand violently. When the expanding gas flows through the Laval nozzle, it is constrained by the nozzle and forms a supersonic high-temperature flame flow. Flame flow heats and accelerates the spraying of materials on the substrate surface to form high-quality coatings.


Supersonic flame spraying is the process of assimilating combustible gases or liquids with high oxygen, and then incinerating them in a designated combustion chamber or nozzle. The high-temperature and high-speed combustion flame generated is used for spraying. Given that the speed of the burning flame is several times the speed of sound, bright Mach nodes in the flame flow can be visually observed, hence HVOF is commonly referred to as supersonic flame spraying.
