Plasma spraying

Plasma spraying is a material surface strengthening and modification technology that can make the substrate surface wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, high-temperature resistant, anti-oxidation, electrically insulating, heat-insulating, radiation resistant, wear-resistant, and sealed. Plasma spraying technology uses a DC driven plasma arc as a heat source to heat materials such as ceramics, alloys, and metals to a molten or semi molten state, and sprays them at high speed onto the surface of the pre treated workpiece to form a firmly attached surface layer. Plasma spraying is also used for medical purposes, spraying a ten micron coating on the surface of artificial bone as a method to strengthen the artificial bone and enhance its affinity.

Characteristics of plasma spraying

1. With ultra-high temperature characteristics, it is easy to spray high melting point materials.

2. The spraying particle speed is fast, the coating is dense, and the bonding strength is high.

3. Using inert gas as the working gas, the sprayed material is not easily oxidized.
